PEB Structure
Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) are a type of steel structure that are designed and fabricated in a factory, then transported to the site for assembly. Here are the main components of a PEB structure:
- Primary Frame: This is the main load-bearing structure, typically made from high-strength steel I-beams or frames. It supports the roof and walls.
- Secondary Structural Elements: These include purlins and girts, which are cold-formed steel members that provide additional support and stability.
- Roof and Wall Panels: These are the cladding systems that enclose the building, made from materials like metal sheets, insulated panels, or composite panels.
- Bracing Systems: Diagonal and cross-bracing elements that enhance the structural integrity and resistance to lateral forces such as wind and seismic loads.
- Accessories: Miscellaneous components like doors, windows, vents, and gutters that complement the functionality and aesthetics of the building.
PEB structures are known for their cost-effectiveness, quick erection, and low maintenance. They are widely used for industrial buildings, warehouses, and other large-span structures.
